Habitat : scandent to climbing in high trees typical of the dense cloud forests on the crest and wet, coastal escarpments of the Serra do Mar and Serra Geral, in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo and southern Rio de Janeiro States at elevations from 500 to 1,450 meters. It is also found at lower elevations on the top of isolated morros in the Atlantic coastal forest of Santa Catarina, or rarely occurs near sea level in coastal resting as in northern Rio Grande do Sul and southern Santa Catarina
